OUR FOUNDERS
Dr. Christina W. Rouson
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10
The late Dr. Christina Diane Williams Rouson was the establishmentarian and first senior pastor of Shekinah Glory Outreach Ministries International, Inc. She established the ministry in 2008 along with her husband Bishop A. Ray Rouson, Sr. and a few committed leaders who saw her vision for a place on uninhibited worship, unconditional love, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
She was considered a pastor, leader, visionary, prayer warrior, counselor, confidant and friend to hundreds and even thousands of people for many years.
A native of Chesapeake, VA, Dr. Rouson entered into the ministry in 1992 and was ordained in 1998. She matriculated higher educational studies at Norfolk State University and was also conferred an honorary doctorate degree by the Norfolk Theological Seminary and College in 2005.
Pastor Christina proudly served her church family and her natural family as mother and was an example to many as a godly wife. Her ministry extended throughout the United States and abroad as she was called upon in the capacities of pastor, preacher, teacher, facilitator and counselor.
She was married for nearly 30 years to Bishop A. Ray Rouson, Sr. and together they gave birth to two sons and one daughter. She was also a grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren.
She went home to be with the Lord in January 2010, less than two years after the establishment of Shekinah Glory and only three days following her husband’s Episcopal consecration to the office of Bishop.
Shekinah Kingdom forever remains grateful to Almighty God for the gift of Dr. Christina Rouson.
